Objectives:

  • Analyze the immediate effects of an independent India.
  • Apply ideas of origin, methods and effects of independence in India in 19th and 20th centuries.

Bell Ringer:

Sit in one of 9 groups

Activities:

  1. Reading p 240-247 Effects of Indian Independence
    1. The 1947-49 War
    2. The Kashmir War
    3. Indo Pakistan War

    Each group will summarize a section of Immediate causes, Progress or Effects.  One students will read and take notes, another will write the summary and last will find a photo and present in Media Presentation.

  • Analyze how conflict over Germany increased the fears of Soviet aggression.
